THE EASTER STORY
Palm Sunday:
Jesus enters Jerusalem riding on a donkey, fulfilling a prophecy.
Crowds welcome Him with palm branches, shouting "Hosanna!" to honor Him as the Messiah.
Holy Monday to Wednesday:
Jesus teaches in Jerusalem and cleanses the Temple, driving out money changers.
His authority and actions create tension with religious leaders.
Maundy Thursday:
Jesus shares the Last Supper with His disciples, instituting the Eucharist (Communion).
He then goes to the Garden of Gethsemane to pray, where He is later betrayed by Judas and arrested.
Good Friday:
Jesus is tried before Pontius Pilate and sentenced to crucifixion.
He is beaten, mocked, and crucified on Golgotha. Jesus dies on the cross and is buried in a tomb.
Holy Saturday:
Jesus' body lies in the tomb, and His followers mourn His death.
Easter Sunday:
Jesus rises from the dead, appearing to Mary Magdalene and His disciples.
The resurrection signifies victory over sin and death, offering believers hope and eternal life.
